Happy Ugadi
Ugadi marks the beginning of a new Hindu lunar calendar with a change in the moon's orbit. It is a day when mantras are chanted and predictions made for the new year. Traditionally, the panchangasravanam or listening to the yearly calendar was done at the temples or at the Town square but with the onset of modern technology, one can get to hear the priest-scholar on television sets right in one's living room.

It is a season for raw mangoes spreading its aroma in the air and the fully blossomed neem tree that makes the air healthy. Also, jaggery made with fresh crop of sugarcane adds a renewed flavor to the typical dishes associated with Ugadi. "Ugadi pachchadi" is one such dish that has become synonymous with Ugadi. It is made of new jaggery, raw mango pieces and neem flowers and new tanarind which truly reflect life - a combination of sweet, sour and bitter tastes!

Happy Sankranthi
Every year 14 January is celebrated as SANKRANTHI or PONGAL. Certain Hindu festivals are associated with the annual cycle of seasons.
Pongal in the South is celebrated to mark the withdrawal of the southeast monsoons as well as the reaping of the harvest. It is the biggest harvest festival, spread over three days. Pongal denotes a sweet preparation made from rice. Each of the three days are marked by different festivities. The first day, Bhogi Pongal, is a day for the family. Surya Pongal, the second day, is dedicated to the worship of Surya, the Sun God. Boiled milk and jaggery is offered to the Sun God, and friends greet each other asking, "Is it boiled?" The answer: "Yes, it is." The third day of Pongal, Mattu Pongal, is for worship of the cattle known as mattu). Cattle are bathed, their horns polished and painted in bright colours, and garlands of flowers placed around their necks. The pongal that has been offered to the Gods is then given to cattle and birds to eat.

Happy Diwali
Deepavali (also spelled Devali in certain regions) or Diwali,[1] popularly known as the festival of lights, is an important five-day festival in Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism, occurring between mid-October and mid-November.
For Hindus, Diwali is the most important festival of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. Deepavali is an official holiday in India,[2] Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.

Happy Vijaya Dasami
Vijayadashami is a festival celebrated in varying forms across India, Bangladesh and Nepal. It is also called Dasara, Dashahara, Navaratri and Durgotsav.

Vijayadashami is celebrated on the tenth day of the Hindu autumn lunar month of Ashvin, or Ashwayuja which falls in September or October of the Western calendar, from the Shukla Paksha Pratipada, or the day after the new moon which falls in Bhadrapada, to the Dashami, or the tenth day of Ashvin. It is the culmination of the 10-day annual Navaratri ('nine nights') festival. It is the largest festival in Nepal, and celebrated by Hindu and non-Hindu Nepalis.
